How the hell is it that Palin is making sense NOW? Did the McCain camp have her muted that thoroughly during the presidential run? Was she just blown away by the spectacle of it all?

What did Sarah Palin say that was so bad then? I want a candidate with a moral compass, not a master of trivia like some seventy-time Jeopardy champion or a polished diplomat like David Gergen who knows how not to insult a murderous dictator. We need a woman who can shoot wolves from a helicopter - and not apologize for the best thing she's ever done the following day.

I never had a particularly bad impression of her. She just never seemed to have much of a voice or presence within the campaign. Not much beyond the "VPILF" and Counter-Hillary factor anyway. Certainly not to the extent that she seems capable of.

Look at the carping about her in the news after the election by anonymous campaign consultants who complained she didn't fit the mold. Her campaign rallies drew record numbers, two-to-three times the number Obama was getting. This was not reported by the Obamafellating MSM. I am not so sure that being a "good campaigner" is such a wonderful thing, but she was apparently a great campaigner except in the eyes of the press and McCain's handlers.

I'm getting intrigued that her voice seems to be growing louder as she gains distance from the republican party. Maybe she's thinking 2012?

One of the problems I had with her during the campaign arose from those tired and pathetic talking points - I was sick of hearing that "Well, you know Senator McCain and I are mavericks." It was obvious that she was being managed by the staff and forced to "stay on message" - but those robotic statements made it impossible to see much of the real Sarah Palin.

She is certainly doing a fine job now with no more than an occasional column and her Facebook comments!
