I'm trying to compensate for that other quote disaster, which has already, to my chagrin, been Google indexed.

Thats no big deal. I'm positive everyone on the internet is kinda pretty sure they know what was meant with the other quote. If you think people will be kinda pretty sure of your meaning and what you changed within a quote, its totally ok. No harm no foul.

As to the quote posted, I've decided I'm looking at this collectivist nonsense in a different perspective. All the talk is about "spreading the wealth" and whatnot. All the healthcare debate revolves around taking someone's money, which they earned by investing part of their life in something, and giving it to someone else to prolong their life. The victim doesn't get that life investment back. The beneficiary receives the fruits of a life that isn't there own. We aren't discussing the morality of "spreading the wealth". We're discussing the morality of spreading the death.

But your "...fighting over the last can of creamed corn.." quote is an all time favorite. An infamous RoR classic.  If Ted hadn't featured it, I would have missed that gem, as I wasn't following the thread you wrote it in.

Not seeing the connection you made to that from here, but thanks :) I still get a chuckle out of that one occasionally.
