Sometimes, reality is almost indistinguishable from an Onion parody.

Bidenesque, yeah?

Not even Bidenesque. More like Yogi Berra-esque!

Yogi Berra said seemingly stupid stuff that sometimes was profoundly Zen-like:

"I just want to thank everyone who made this day necessary."

"If you ask me anything I don't know, I'm not going to answer."

"If the world was perfect, it wouldn't be."

"If you come to a fork in the road, take it."

"In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is."

"The future ain't what it used to be."

"There are some people who, if they don't already know, you can't tell 'em."

Biden mainly just says moronic stuff.

Those who can't do, teach.
Those who can't teach, become criminals.
Those too stupid to become criminals, get elected to the Senate.

I love this one: "In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is." It's true, you know!

Laure,

You're absolutely right about the "theory/practice" one. I didn't catch that initially. I had to think about it after you pointed it out. It's subtle but true, although I'm not sure that Yogi Berra was aware of just how true! You get a sanction for that insightful observation!

Here are some more Yogi-isms. Here is the AFLAC commercial.

Yogi was also a talker behind the plate. He used to talk to the opposing batters in order to distract them. Hank Aaron tells the story about the 1958 World Series, with Yogi behind the plate. Yogi kept telling Aaron to 'hit with the label up on the bat'. Finally Aaron turned and said "Yogi, I came up here to hit, not to read." (source)
