From what I have been reading lately, Britain is even worse -- google "Anti-Social Behavior Order" or "Big Brother CCTV" if you think that country isn't getting more Orwellian each year.
The quote sounded like something Ayn Rand might have said if she had escaped Russia only to find massive statism everywhere else she tried to go.
