Hi Joe,

Do you have any ball-park figures wrt the conference fee and/or likely cost of a roof over one's head at "party central" err I mean the conference venue. Trying to figure out how much $$$ to save.

Could you apply to the Guvinator of California for funding assistance? You could site the fact that the amount of wine required to slake LP's thirst will probably result enough tax-revenue to pay off California's debts and keep the US Social Security system solvent to the year 10,300 AD... :-) :-)

Robert, all that information is on the conference page.  At least it's on my copy of it.  $100 conference fee.  The rooms at the venue are $250 for the 5 nights (that's a great deal!).  But supply is limited.  There are also some fold-out beds for less, and you can even crash on the floor if you're really poor (but not too poor to pay our floor rate).

I don't think they make enough red wine to keep Perigo satiated!

If you would like to give a presentation, please contact Joseph Rowlands.
I have found the Reality Model video by Franklin Covey illustrates powerfully the role of ideas in behavior and ultimate quality of life.  Everyone who has seen it agrees with me, and SOLO DC Coordinator Julia Brent will corroborate my statement.  It runs two hours.  I can bring it along with copies of the accompanying worksheet if you think participants will have interest.  However, I cannot tell from the house layout if it has a VCR.  If not, I can bring it on DVD and play it on my laptop, but I do not know if I can cable that to a television, assuming the house even has one.

Let me know.

Hey everyone.  It looks like the rooms have all been taken.  We're still waiting for payments on them, so we may have some open up again.  There are also only 2 more couches available!

Hello everyone,

Just a reminder, if you would like to attend or reserve space in the house, please RSVP through me at ekatalin@yahoo.com. If you could please include whether or not you have a PayPal account, and what e-mail address it is linked to, it will make sending out the invoice quicker/easier.

There are no more rooms left at this time as Joe mentioned, but we do have a couch still open and plenty of floor space (you'll have to bring a sleeping bag!) If you are interested in either of those arrangements, please let me know in the e-mail.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Just a note, we have had a couple of rooms open up. (Sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere too, trying to cover all conversation threads related to the conference). Please contact me at ekatalin@yahoo.com if you're interested!

Just an interesting sideline: The first day of this conference falls on "Resourceful Earth Day":

http://www.cei.org/gencon/003,02655.cfm
In memory of Julian Simon, Resourceful Earth Day celebrates and debates human compatibility with environmental protection, a forgotten belief once held by the likes of Henry David Thoreau and Al Gore.
This might offer a good activism opportunity in the future as SOLO Local Clubs proliferate.

Hi Everyone!

We mentioned in the SOLO4 info page that as of April 1st the conference attendance fee will increase. This is in fact true and approaching. Any payments received after April 1st will be $150 per person.

So make your reservations and submit your payments early!

For any questions, contact me at ekatalin@yahoo.com.

Another note - for those of you still making travel arrangements and who might need a ride from the airport, please try to fly into one of the closer airports. LAX is actually not that close to where we are staying.

What we will most likely do is offer pick-up/drop-offs to/from the airports for a price, like a shuttle bus or limo. Exact details will be determined later.

In the meantime, if you think you might be needing a ride, can you please e-mail me your flight info offline at ekatalin@yahoo.com? That will give me an idea of who might need rides.

Thanks,
Elizabeth

To anyone who might need a ride to the house, or can offer a ride for someone:

Please use this forum... It's the easiest way to coordinate.
