Terrific to see a personality come through on this forum - and congrats on your courage despite the sound quality. I can't make out the lyrics. Would you please post them?

Sam

Very cute! You should post it as a "Video Response" to Questionablescum:

Sam, here are the lyrics to this short piece (and knowing them would definitely help in appreciating it -- for what it's worth):

===================
Out at your wit's end, you don't know what to do
But pick up some Rand, she may inspire you

There's never been a better time, there's never been a better season
So why don't you come and join, in this ... Rebirth of Reason
===================

Ed

p.s. Does anyone know how I might clean up the sound in future music videos which I create (or even in a remake of this one)?

Rodney,

As to that person going by the name of 'Questionable[ ]scum', I've already engaged that Marxist heavily (in the comments thread of that video). Rodney, I AM the "loneRambler"!

;-)

Ed
[the last 10 comments eloquently display this Marxist's deranged mentality -- as well as my intellectual "upper-hand" in the argument]

Yes, I was aware of that. I just thought that this might add some friendly "spice" to your arguments.

Okay Rodney, but remember what I said here:

http://rebirthofreason.com/Forum/RoRTechnology/0013.shtml#4

This particular music video is only of moderate quality -- both technically (loud, scratchy noises) as well as in my 'performance' (my paucity of practice, as well as my initial nervousness, kept me from doing a better job on it).

Though some talent does shine through it all, it's not something I would feel comfortable 'advertising' throughout the World Wide Web!

;-)

But thanks for the encouragement, Rodney.

Ed

LOL! Good grief, you're adorable, Ed.

Love the lyrics.

Here are some "help" sites for your video (there are tons and tons of them):

http://blogs.msdn.com/alexbarn/archive/2006/08/26/725769.aspx

The blog below is very informative -

http://crunchgear.com/2007/07/16/help-key-how-to-optimize-your-video-for-youtube/

"When YouTube’s servers encode your video, it’s going to lose some quality, it’s a fact of streaming media. That means you’re going to want to make it as bit-rich as you can. Use a bitrate as high as you can, YouTube can take it. That being said, anything above 1200kbps is probably overkill and will take the video longer to process on YouTube’s end. Somewhere between 700kbps and 1000kbps should do the trick nicely."

The following website appears to be devoted to making YouTube videos

Rock on...

Geezus, Teresa!

That CrunchGear site is amazingly helpful! Thanks so much for finding those sites for me!

I'm guessing the audio was noisy before google got their hands on it. In that case, the easiest thing to do would be to get the original recording good.

Thanks Dean,

I'll play around with the stats on the sound capture, as well as with the distance/direction of the microphone from my mouth (and guitar).

That was wonderful, the music was great, the lyrics a bit cheeky in a good way, and the best part was seeing you smile.

:-))

You see, Ted. It's like I've been trying to tell all of these other 'rabble-rousers' around here: While I sometimes seem like a G-D, M-F'n S-ova-B online -- I'm really quite a likable guy in person! Just ask my niece and nephew (if you don't believe me). They're still at that tender age of brutal honesty, you know?!

;-)

But seriously -- thanks for the benevolent feedback, Ted.

Terrific to see a personality come through on this forum (Sam)

I agree! (although I was already quite familiar with Ed's personality.)

I think it was be great if more members made videos of themselves...discussing topics, singing, or just saying "Hi!" (Ted, Teresa, Rev, Sam, Dean...anybody??)

(I'd love to make one, too, but I can't think of anything anyone would be interested in hearing me talk about, and I can't sing :-)

So what about it, other RoRers?

Erica

Ed, your steely faced avatar sure looks like a like a G-D, M-F'n S-ova-B, maybe you should try for a candid screen shot of a smile!
