Wow - if anyone thinks this movie won't be faithful to the book, this clip should squash that notion.

The house is perfect big-bucks schlock, the contrast between the brothers comes out in the casting, acting and costuming, and Lillian is wonderfully bitchy, just as in the book.  Too bad they didn't make this movie 25 years ago, when they could have cast Joan Collins.

Perter Reidy observed:

See my article "'As Is A' Is Not PC" for a story about a visitor to my local Objectivist club who got downright offended at my use of the "B" word, calling it as offensive as the "N" word. As you might guess, her protests did not stop me from calling Lillian what she is. But your post reminded me of that incident.

I would remind your visitor of what the mother rhinoceros said to her baby: tough titty for you, sweetheart.

If the rest of the movie is as good as this clip, I'm going to enjoy the heck out of this movie.

I forget, though ... why in the hell didn't Rearden divorce his wife's sorry ass long ago?

Rearden hewed to altruistic premises including the idea that romantic love consists of self-sacrifice.

This may be the first time there has been a reason to look forward to April 15th.

Has anyone heard what the release dates are for part II and part III?

My biggest concern is of the cities in which it will be shown. If it isn't shown in Albuquerque I may have to go to Denver? St. Louis? Las Vegas? Phoenix?
