I am pleased to announce my entry into the effort to actively expedite the cure for human aging within our lifetime. Earlier today, I have made a donation of $50.00 to the Methuselah Mouse Prize, sponsored by the Methuselah Foundation. You must be thinking that, if an Objectivist has donated his funds to any endeavor, there must be a selfish reason for this. Indeed, there is. I have made it amply clear in my official statement accompanying the donation, which can be found on the Methuselah Foundation’s Donor List. (If you donate, you will, too, have the option of receiving such prominent recognition.)
I have additionally embarked on an endeavor to channel $5,000 in contributions to the Methuselah Mouse Prize by spreading the word about the means by which one can donate to this endeavor. In order to do this, I have founded an organization of resources and activism, the Chicago Methuselah Foundation Fund, which shall keep my endeavor in full public view. Here is how you can partake in this development (even if you do not reside anywhere near Chicago):
There are two ways to make a donation to the Methuselah Foundation:
1. Donate online via credit card. Click here to do so. Contributions can be made by filling out the fields on the donation page; when you click "Donate" you will be taken to WorldPay, the world's leading payment provider, to enter credit card details. The amount that you donate, together with your name, unless you indicate that you wish to remain anonymous, will appear in the Foundation's roll-call of Donors to the Methuselah Mouse Prize. You will receive automatic email notification that the Methuselah Foundation has received your donation.
2. Send a check payable to "The Methuselah Foundation" to the following address:
The Methuselah Foundation
9131 Stone Garden Drive
Lorton, VA 22079
Please indicate in a note enclosed with the check, or in the check's memo section, the prize to which you would like the donation applied (PP or RP- i.e. the Postponement Prize or the Reversal Prize. You can learn about the prize structure at http://www.methuselahfoundation.org/prize.asp), and whether you would like the donation to be with attribution or anonymous.
If you have donated to the Methuselah Foundation through the CMFF, please contact us so that we may recognize your efforts on our site as well. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
The Methuselah Foundation is a non-profit endeavor, and all contributions shall be tax-deductible.
Any donation, no matter how small, is welcome. You can download the CMFF’s new Life Card to see how many lives of persons your age a simple donation of $1.00 can save from aging: the number could be in the thousands!
