On Friday, October 29th Melissa Hefferlin, Daud Arkriev, and Daud’s son, Timur are exhibiting their recent paintings and drawings in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Melissa and Daud have international reputations; their works are collected throughout the world. Melissa has exhibited in the Hunter Museum of American Art and, I am proud to say, she is an ex-apprentice of mine.
Daud has incredible deftness and integrates classical Russian techniques with the vibrant fresh colors of direct perception and with, in is over life-sized pieces, ideological content.
Timur is incredibly talented; I have been blown away by the realism of his many, many paintings, and is, I think, 19 or 20 years old!
I will be there for the Opening reception at 5:30 P.M.
