It's Impossible

It

Over a period of some 50 years a stupid joke that I happened to come across in the Readers Digest frequently came to mind. The other day when this popped into my head for no particular reason I thought I’d see if it was somewhere in cyber space.
Lo and Behold, it was there:

From snopes.com
Readers Digest, 1958

My friend R.B. Jones doesn't have a first or middle name -- only the initials R.B.This unusual arrangement was never a problem until he went to work for a government agency. The government is not accustomed to initialed employees, so R.B. had a lot of explaining to do. On the official forms for the payroll and personnel departments, his name was carefully entered as R (Only) B (Only) Jones.

Sure enough, when R.B. got his pay check, it was made out to Ronly Bonly Jones.

Now, the point of what I’m trying to make is that, by all things holy, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE to have created this degree of trivia from 49 years ago and have it retrievable in two shakes of a lamb’s tail — and I say this with all the conviction of the “scientist ” who, at the turn of the 20th century, said that the laws of physics had all been described so successfully that all that remained was to add a few more decimal places.

I've been in computing for a very long time, and I’m certainly not up-to-date on search engines, but everything I know tells me that that there is no way that all these billions upon billions of words on the Internet can be indexed to this degree of efficiency.
Similarly, there is no way that elementary organisms can evolve into infinitely more complex life forms without “Intelligent Design."

So, I’ll just sit back and believe that we’re all just the victims of a vast conspiracy like in “The Truman Show” or where supernatural beings are merely toying with us and laughing.  It’s a whole lot easier than actually studying those subjects and understanding  their principles.
