We all know theft, lies, and fraud have nothing to do with Capitalism, right? Good. Will someone please fill DirectTV in? That said, let me advise everyone in the universe to stay away from DirectTV satellite service. Stay far far away, then throw stones. Can someone please tell me how 42.00 a month equals 56.00 a month? No? DirectTV thinks these two amounts are equal. This past December, I wanted to try a cheaper television service. I went directly to DirectTV's website, and they were having a 12 month special. 150 channels for 34.99 a month, regularly 52.99 a month. Cool. I filled out all of the on line information, got set up with an appointment date, had a boarderline retarded tech comes out and install the dish, set up the DVR half way, and then tell me to hang on hold for 30 minutes at a phone number he instructed me to call in order to finalize the transaction. Great. 30 minutes later, I have National Geographic on the tube. I'm all excited. The website also offered a 50.00 gift card if you signed up for the auto pay option. Natually, I signed up for it. A day later, 56.00 was removed from my checking account. Huh? I thought it was supposed to be 42.00 with the nifty DVR I got (and have to reset when it freaks out at least twice a month). I called the customer service number, and was told I had to send in a rebate form. I find the form, which is for 10.00. Whatever, big companies like this always make good on their offers. Don't they? Surely they know what I actually ordered right from their own fucking website! Don't they? They don't, at least they don't admit it. Three months and several angry emails later, Direct TV is still charging me 56.00 a month for a 42.00 a month service. They're even claiming they never had a 34.99 plan offered, and furthermore, I will have to "visit the retailer where I made my purchase" to receive the gift card. Retailer?? I never went to no stinking retailer! See, this is why the Hillarys and Obamas are even able to make it to the champaign trail. Big companies like this, those that are in the best position to demonstrate the brilliant design of the Trader Principle, completely fuck it up, then lie about it. Such savory fare for the Socialist crowd. Little bitty me (and probably hundreds of others) getting ripped off by the big bad "Capitalist" man! Hillary will fix those bastards! Yeah! I digress... Now, if anyone can answer this question, I would be very grateful. My account on DirectTV's website has my original shopping cart saved, which shows the 34.99 offer AND the tiny print saying the plan includes an 18.00 a month credit. However, I am unable to save this entire page either as a screen shot or simple copy and paste. The price part of the page (of course) disappears from view with I try to paste the page in a new document. Is there a way to force all of graphics in a page to a screen shot? If anyone can help, that would be great. I can provide my login information and password if you need to see the page. My printer is completely shot, but I can maybe print the page from work. Where would be the best place to complain about this? I will be filing a complain with the BBB, but is there anywhere else? Can I bitch to my state prosecutor's office? | ||||
