While browsing through some gun retailers on the Internet (not that I'm interested in buying, I was just interested in the going prices) the web site abruptly shut down. There had been a hasty disclaimer that they were being overwhelmed and that delivery would be delayed and that they wouldn't be able to answer the phone. Ditto with several other sites.
It seems that the threat of more gun control has generated a virtual whirlwind of concern that law-abiding citizens won't be able to obtain adequate self protection in the future. Without a doubt these people are peaceful citizens. So, contrary to the anti-gun lobbyist's goals, the number of guns is actually increasing. It is just another example of a litany of cases which generates unintended consequences from government social engineering and infringement on the legitimate exercise of citizen's rights.
