Yaron Brook talks about: The Resurgence of Big Government [video] Introductory highlights: --Just 12 years ago, President Clinton announced that the era of Big Government is over --We've seen government spending go from just under $2 trillion to just over $3 trillion in just the last 8 years; an increase of about 58% --We've seen the largest-ever new regulation on American business; the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, 2002 --We've seen the largest entitlement bill since Pres. Johnson; the healthcare drug benefits bill --The $2 trillion to $3 trillion surge wasn't from the Iraq War, it wasn't a trillion-dollar-a-year increase in defense spending; it was just government growth in general --In 12 years, we've gone from an era in which there was a general sense that we need smaller government (to the extent that Clinton needed to announce it) -- to an era where govt growth is out of control and nobody seems to care --People should have a sense that something's wrong here --So, what happened?
