I know I'm psyching myself up for a let down, but I can't help being excited. It'll all be over in a few hours, and then we'll go back to being The People's Republic of Michigan.
But, oh, what we could be instead! We could be the first "voluntarily funded" state government in the history of history! I wish it were possible. I wish the republicans who run the house of this state would grow some balls and hold out for the chance to really make a difference. I wish Sam or Bill was our governor. <g>
The GOP in Michigan wants the budget to reflect a substantial tax cut. The governor wants a tax increase, because she needs to "invest" in the people. The poor, stupid, ignorant people who don't have a clue how to take care of themselves without her. And if she doesn't get that increase, she'll hold her breath, stomp her feet, and shut down all of the "non-essential" government services...
Wait....was that supposed to be a threat, Jenny?? Girl, don't threaten me with a good time! I'm on the verge of drooling over the prospect of not having to deal with the bitches at the Secretary of State's office, watching my paycheck climb, and hiring all of the new help we'll need to handle the riot of new business clammoring to get into this state.
