| This story is a great little satire of the subjectivist corruption of avant-garde human society, which is wholly incapable of seeing a brilliant and robust new male writer for what he really is: a simple-minded forest bear.
I smiled and laughed while reading this book... The characters who surround the bear are supreme idiots completely lost in a world of utter delusion and hype, completely divorced from any ability to objectively perceive reality.
Several amazon.com reviews of this book would prefer to avoid the obvious implications that I've pointed out above, and several of those reviewers choose to pretend that this book is a satire about -- you guessed it -- the evils of money and fame and so on.
My guess is that the book's mockeries hit too close to home for their comfort, so they pop open their canned, standard indictments, drilled into their heads by the postmodern svengalis who were their professors back in college.
