Ayn Rand Society Philosophical Studies
The Ayn Rand Society will be issuing an annual series under the title Ayn Rand Society Philosophical Studies. The publisher will be University of Pittsburgh Press. Allan Gotthelf will edit the series, with James Lennox as associate editor. Bravo!

I am a member of a couple of other APA Societies, in addition to being a member of ARS. One issues the fine occasional series North American Kant Society Studies in Philosophy. In connection with interests in the other Society, we have the superb annual series The Leibniz Review.

This new publication will have each of its volumes center around a distinctive theme. Professor Gotthelf writes: “It will feature papers read at Society meetings, but may also include occasional commissioned papers and/or book reviews, and other appropriate materials as well. The first book in the series will be available for display and sales at the APA Eastern Division meetings in December 2010, with a publication date in January 2011.” The theme of the first issue is taking shape in the vicinity of Rand's approach to egoism, virtue, and metaethics.
