| The basic gist of this film is that "Death" (Pitt) decides to experience life as a human and takes the body of a young man. He appears to a rich businessman (Hopkins) who is going to die soon, and has him act as a guide to all that life has to offer.
Without Pitt and Hopkins I doubt this movie would be worth watching. Their interplay is amazing throughout. It's very long and takes it's time getting where it's going which has resulted in viewers being split down the middle about it being great or awful. The music is truly excellent and is also another thing that makes it watchable.
But what does it have to offer the RoR crowd? Well, there is a lot about virtue and living a good, honest, and productive life. There is a lot about emotion; what it is and isn't and deception, and honesty. It took a couple of viewings to really grow on me, but I do recommend making the effort.
