Ghostbusters
Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Egon Spengler are scientists conducting research in parapsychology. When their research is defunded and they get kicked off campus, Ray remarks, "Personally, I like the University. They gave us money and facilities, we didn't have to produce anything. You've never been out of college. You don't know what it's like out there. I've worked in the private sector. They expect results."

So begins the uproarious comedy that is Ghostbusters, a tale of three guys who start a successful business trapping spooks and ghouls, only to have a busybody EPA agent (the aptly named Walter Peck) unfairly question their methods and, eventually, cause a major catastrophe by forcibly shutting down their containment unit. Our intrepid heroes have to convince the mayor to let them save the day, and they finally win him over when Peter notes, "You will have saved the lives of millions of registered voters."

I've been a Ghostbusters fan since I was three years old and watched the cartoon every day, so I'm a bit partial, but I think this movie has everything: Bill Murray, a kickass 80s title track, and scientists using their inventions to kick the crap out of seemingly omnipotent beings from parallel dimensions. And while this movie could stand on the strength of its jokes alone, it's made all the more enjoyable by its capitalistic take on the natures of business and politics.

"Back off man. I'm a scientist."
