| For 53 years RCTV has been the only privately held TV network in Venezuela. Dictator Hugo Chavez's decision "not to renew their license" has been met with riots in all across Venezuela. While the leftist government of Brazil has remained without comment, left-wing bloggers such as Charlie Hardy of NarcoSphere lick decades old wounds and justify this unabashed act of tyranny as deserved retribution. Having recently completed nationalizing the last of the privately held oil industry in his nation, Chavez seems intent on travelling down the well-worn road to serfdom. It will be interesting to see how the useful idiots of the American left view this exercise in campaign finance regulation. Ted Keer | ||
