Team Claims Success with Rocket Launch
Posted by G. Stolyarov II on 5/18/2004, 12:02pm
Ky Michaelson, affectionately known as "The Rocketman," has designed the first viable amateur pilotless rocket, which has flown 62 miles into space.

A week ago, the firm of Burt Rutan, who was featured in a prior news update on this topic, had also managed to succeed at launching the first privately funded manned vehicle, 211,400 feet into space.

The glorious age of private, selfish, and capitalistic space exploration has begun, and some of the most colorful and passionate personalities are emerging to serve as its pioneers. Moreover, the regulators are either standing aside or sanctioning the developments, for now. Let us hope that they continue to do so.
