That Day Posted by Stephen Boydstun on 1/14, 4:49am
I was deep into my Kant studies the morning my sister in Oklahoma City called. No “hello,” only “Is your television on? Turn it on. There are attacks happening in New York and Washington.” I instantly had two thoughts: This is international. Bin Laden. We turned on the TV. For the first hour, I thought I was going to throw up from the atrocity. I began to be assured of our control when they succeeded in getting down all the commercial airliners and when we learned that the Air Force had taken the President under its wing. That evening as the sun was setting, I looked out the bay window to the balcony, trees, and sky. I knew we had to go over there to their hideout. So far away. We would be going. I decided that the following day we would install a staff out the balcony to hold the American flag I had recently inherited from my brother. We purchased another flag known as Gadsden, which we keep in a drawer, for that special day. America will get bin Laden and al-Zawahiri. Depend on it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The President “Whether we bring our enemies to justice or bring justice to our enemies, justice will be done.” 2001–Present Drone – Yemen . . 11/5/02 Forward Get ‘em Afganistan-Pakistan – Map Operation Rah-e-Nijat Drones – Pakistan . . 8/18/09, 9/11/09, 1/14/10 The President “Every evening that the sun sets on a tranquil town; every dawn that a flag is unfurled; every moment that an American enjoys life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—that is their legacy.”
