The New Humanism Posted by Fred Bartlett on 3/11, 2:53pm
"Conservative" David Broder observes in the NYTimes that after 50 years of failed Great Society society building, after decades of mushy Progressivism and creeping socialism and every sloppy half baked pet Soc. grad school theory imaginable, that after royally screwing the pooch with all this slop, our 'societal' problems stem from too much reliance on rationality, and too little reliance on emotion. When the tribal herdists totally screw the collective Great Society building pooch, their solution is to circle up the wagons and beg for yet more irrational complete slop. We've been thinking too much with our rational brains, and haven't been breathing enough through the soles of our feet. Well, OK. Why not? Let's just push the pedal to the medal, and finally run all the gunk out of the engine, finally create that steaming pile of parts along the road.
