Are tax increases, or budget cuts, more harmful to Minnesota's economy?
Posted by Ed Thompson on 7/07, 10:19am
The link has an audio player so you can listen to the short round-table discussion. It has been discussed before here on RoR whether (and how much) professional economists were conservatives or liberals. Three of these 4 "top" Minnesota economists were "Keynesian" socialists. That's 75% socialist.

Without using Google, can you tell me -- just by listening -- which of these men was not like the others (which one is not a socialist-Marxist; i.e., not using "economics" as a cover for deeper political motives)?:

  • Tom Stinson: State Economist and economics professor, University of Minnesota.
  • Louis Johnston: Chair of the economics department and professor of economics, St. John's University and College of St. Benedict.
  • Varadarajan V. Chari: Professor of economics, University of Minnesota.
  • Ed Lotterman: Professor of economics, Augsburg College. Writes the Real World Economics column in the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
