What's Wrong with Public Nudity Posted by William Dwyer on 12/08, 5:51pm
Referring to a recent law banning public nudity in San Francisco (a city which had formerly allowed it), Conservative journalist Dennis Prager says that public nudity is favored by the left, because it seeks to undo most of the values that are distinctive to Judeo-Christian religion. According to Prager, "Karl Marx understood that a vibrant leftism and a vibrant Christianity could not coexist. He was right." Prager also says that a major difference between humans and animals is clothing; clothing separates us from -- and in the biblical view, elevates us above -- the animal kingdom." For Prager, man is the "clothed animal." Another reason to oppose public nudity, he says, is respect for the holy or the sacred, but that is a reason that is not recognized by the left for whom nothing is holy or sacred.
