You will have read that Ohio voters turned down a proposal to decriminalize marijuana. This looks like bad news, but it hides a piece of better news.

Voters didn't like Issue 3 because it granted a monopoly to a group of investors who were effectively tryng to buy a constitutional amendment in their favor. The good news is that at the same time they passed Issue 2, which constitutionally bans the granting of such monopolies and which came about expressly in response to Issue 3.
