Don't know if it is a good idea for the hero to look like a pig.

A pink pig with an "Old Glory" belt buckle no less...

I'd have been a little more impressed if you'd chosen to dress your man up as a wild boar... Seeing them on a rampage is a sight to behold - from a distance.

In terms of scaring the holy shit of jihadists it's a good idea. Think about it. Here's a ruthless superpowered pig who kills jihadists on site. I thought about what kind of Superhero would be perfect to take on jihadists and I came up with PigMan. Jihadists would rather kill human beings than be anywhere near a pig, and what adds to their fear of him, is that he wears a pigskin suit that jeapardizes their chances of ascending to 'paradise'. He's a post 9/11 version of Superman & Batman. Superman in his power and Batman in that his appearance engenders fear from the enemy. But he's ruthless compared to them. Since we're at war with the worst kind of killers, he
understands that killing them is the only way to deal with them.
My graphic novel The Infidel is about a counter jihadist cartoonist whose character is PigMan, which gets him onto the radar of the enemy. PigMan is a comic book within my graphic novel.
And the Question 'When Will Comics Take On Jihad' is answered 'When Pigs Fly' since comics have not taken on Jihad. I know that Frank Miller is working on a Batman vs. al Queda graphic novel titled 'Holy Terror Batman!' Even though Miller said that he's working on it on his own, apart from DC and is not even sure if they're going to publish it.
In WW2, Captain America made his debut by punching out Hitler on his first issue and comics didn't stop there, they were a great source of propaganda against the enemy of the day.

I did consider making him a wild boar, but I wanted him to be immediately recognizable as a pig, pink and all, especially to those he hunts down.

I get it, it's like Rand appropriating "selfish" and "capitalist", or Americans taking "Yankee."

I apologize for the double post replying to the post by Robert Davison. I thought I wasn't logged in the first time I posted, so you can see that I refined my first answer.

In addition, Robert W, I wanted to keep the name PigMan since it echoes SuperMan, BatMan and Spider-Man. I don't think Wild BoarMan would have cut it. After considering names like The Hog, PigBoy, The Pig, Wild Pig and numerous others, the name PigMan finally did it for me.

I can see where the pig is a good foil for the muslims, but why does he have jihad emblazoned on the chest, it make him look like he favors it.

Robert,

Take another look.

It reads "jihadit!" with the final letter serving as both "t" and "!"

Well by cracky, so it does.  My rheumy old eyes are just not up to this.  Time for the home.

Calling this...uh...superhero "Pigman" suggests that terrorism is a law enforcement problem, and that Pigman is engaging in international police activity.

His motto could be "I oink, therefore I ham."

I'd like to continue this post, but I'm on a short break at my day gig at Disneyland (a Southern California theme pork), where I'm working to bring home the bacon.
