| | This article came up in the past article generator, and it is a gem.
The parallels between the author's life and my life are surprising. It makes me wonder if other Objectivists had similar lives before they discovered the philosophy. I think that question was once suggested earlier, perhaps a study should be performed.
I also loved the essay "The Cult of Moral Grayness". If someone were to say to me one day, "there's no black or white; there's only the gray." I would reply "How would the gray exist without the black or white, since the gray is a mixture of the two?" The credit goes to Rand for that gem. I love arguments that defeat themselves.
In regard to the strike, I hope it never happens. The evil will perish, but so will the Eddie Willers of the world. That is something I wouldn't like to see. It's a good thing such collapse is still preventable but it will require the removal of the more corrosive aspects of nihilism and altruism (society will still remain as long as such ideas aren't fully practiced, even though it would be better if the ideas weren't practiced or preached at all).
