Wonderful, Jennifer. This site really is quite something, isn't it? It's just got everything.

I can tell from your writing style that you're a kindred soul! I love seeing writing like yours. Quite honestly, it's only on SOLOHQ that one finds it.

Methinks it's high time for the next SOLO conference. :-)

Jennifer - naturally I love this article, but my sadness is redoubled that we didn't get to meet. I blame Newberry - he should have tried harder to bring us together. I shall have to spank him or shoot him, depending on how I feel when I next see him. However, you are here now, & that's what's important. I'm especially grateful that you chose to write this at a time when SOLO & I are under siege from the "detractors" you mention. I don't intend to waste a single second on them - all their bitter & twisted lies & half-truths are answerable, but I have too little time & even less inclination. Nems like *you* are my answer to them. Bless you, dear Jennifer. And yes, Cam's right - we *must* set up SOLOC 4!!!!!

I think I need to spend more time on SOLO...because my disappointment is still a heavy burden.

Jennifer, not only do you embody the very qualities that brought me to be a proud contributor to Solo, you also have an uncanny sense of timing.
This is Solo; this is why we are here. Now, let's have some fun!

Linz, is the speech Jennifer heard available here?

Linz, James, Marcus,

The three of you have become part of my daily delight, and I look forward to one day giving each of you a big hug and a smooch.  :)

Thank you, and I agree.  It is time.  Let's get this bloody gathering moving!

I too enjoy this website.  The participants are for the most part very intelligent and well spoken, and they come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.  I also like the fact that there is new content to digest every time I log on.  My only question is: how the hell do you make any money off something like this?  I certainly haven't paid a red cent yet!

Fantastic. I am seriously going the next SOLO conference. I need to meet the wonderful people of this site in person because it's killing me to know that there are others like myself out there. I don't know if they're waiting for me or if I'm waiting for them. I must meet all of you!

Linz,

TOC is currently selling an audio of your presentation.  It is the raw tape, without technical editing.  As I told you before I was unable to attend because I was assigned to moderate a talk opposite yours.  But I listened to the tape a couple of days ago and it is inspiring.  The recordings of Mario Lanza and the opera singer chiming in on "The Star Spangled Banner" came out reasonably well.  Tapes of most of the other presentations are available as well.

SOLOists can go to http://www.objectivistcenter.org to order.  On the first page there is a link to TOC live.

Best,

Bill

Hmmm, "blame", "spank", "shoot"--sounds like postmodern role playing. What is not a game is that Jennifer has brought to Solo a champagne-like sparkle--cork, pop, pour--broast!

Jennifer asks: Is that a combination of breast and toast?

Ummm, no. And it is not a new kind of chicken sandwich, nor and alcoholic milkshake, its actually Dutch for "cheers" while you clink glasses and by turns look everyone there in the eyes before drinking.

Michael, that'd be "Proost" (cheers in Dutch).

"Prosit" (almost same pronunciation) in German.

And my favorite, "Cin Cin" (Italian) which has the Japanese doubled over because "Chin Chin" is a man's sexual organ in their language :)

David,

Haha, thanks for that, I always confuse my “p” with “b”, and “d” with “t” good thing I don’t confuse black with white, lemon-yellow with violet, or Kant with Rand…or proost with brick!

Thanks to Bill Perry, I ordered Linz' speech from TOC. After reading "Perigo: Politically Incorrect" I've got to hear that mellifluous voice!
While I was there, A ordered Michael Newberry's "Innovation in Art", too.

Ah, James, that would be a good one to listen to.  The NZ accent is just yummy, and Linz has a wonderful presence on the air.  Enjoy.  :)
