That violence against women is pathological is proven by the studies that show the vast majority of wife-beaters to be criminals who also beat men.This just says that most men who beat their wives are also the kind who also beat other men. If this is not what you were referring to, please let me know. As to the second sentence of yours that I quoted, Alec nowhere calls women cows. His last sentence is:
