Have you given any thought to making these clubs invitation only? Exclusive membership can be an attractive marketing ploy, making membership more desirable.

New members would be recruited and would be expected to pay dues which would, in turn, provide funds for recruiting and for guest speakers.

Robert, that is the modus operandi of Toastmasters. I have an article in work to discuss that and other possibly desireable aspects of Toastmasters to emulate.

I need to chew on that idea to determine what the best course of action is.

For now, I think the approach will be more laissez-faire until we can determine exactly how much interest we can garner.

Heh. Ray Kroc graduated from my high school. So did Earnest Hemingway. And Dan Castellenetta (voice of Homer Simpson).
Not that the place ever taught me a damn thing. But this does go to show that, even if you attend a public school, there's still a remote possibility that you might become a success on some level.
