Manfred,

This is an important article. Thank you for taking the time to write it. I admit, so far, I've only skimmed it but am impressed with the finding on Picasso's potential view of art as contrasted against romantic realism.

Manfred (or anyone interested), do you know where I could retrieve a list of all of the art or artists that Rand liked? If not, would anyone care to create that list? I'm talking about the musical composers which she liked, etc.

Ed

Ed: Thank you greatly for the kudos.

In relation with your request for a list of artists and arts that Rand liked (a list similar to "What Ayn Rand read" of the Objectivism Reference Center and also Robert Malcolm's suggestion in Post 1 - an excellent suggestion!) I don't think that I can be of much help here.

However, if you were to contact those that were directly related with Rand, you could surely hit gold - as long as they're ready to collaborate, that is. I would suggest you to contact Barbara Branden (who's already a member of "Rebirth"), George Resiman, even Nathaniel Branden and, though he may deny any help, Leonard Peikoff. And then, of course, Allan Blumenthal should be one of your first choices. He and his wife are deeply related with art and can, thus, help to provide the list you require.

At any rate, your project is very praiseworthy. It will add to build a full "curriculum" of Ayn Rand for the present and future generations!
