Tyson,

Lots of good stuff in there. Was this kind of like a spring cleaning?

I'll have to check out the YouTube link.

I recently became aware of Victor Frankl's logotherapy, I'm going to kick the tires.
I'm in the process of reading Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning. Perhaps we can discuss? ...

:-)

Can I assume that you still type with DVORAK? Thanks for the regards.

Ed:

Mental spring cleaning is an appropriate term. It is wonderful to display your self and proudly proclaim "This is me." Perhaps some of you on the ol' Facebook are seeing friends writing that "25 Things About Me." I should probably do that too.

I try to bring as much value to this forum as possible when I do contribute. My recent experiences have been of tremendous value, and so here they are.

Keep me in the loop on your study of Frankl. To slightly spoil the playlist mentioned above, here is a good Frankl video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCPRIka1WP8

All:

Seeing the username of the person who posted the Frankl video, I'd just like to add that last week I picked up the copy of Bastiat's "What Is Seen and What Is Not Seen" from the framers. I have yet to decide where I shall display it.

All the best,

Tyson

There are many people here who post what they have carefully thought out and written and edited with pains. There are many people who are very knowledgeable, very philosophically astute, and very worth reading.

A few times since I started posting here we have been offered what can only be called intellectual yard-sale leavings for our consideration. It is a peculiar psychological mark of these posts that they tend to be self-adoring and yet apologized for as mere "musings," or something of the kind.

I suggest that a minimum effort to post only what one has consciously vetted as intelligent and of general interest is sensible for all of us.

I had to give up dvorak mainly because at work I use many different computers that other people use. Its hard to stay proficient in two key layouts.

Mindy:

Thank you for your post. I too highly respect the work of many of the people who post here. For the limited time I devote to this forum I think my general interest contributions are very respectable- those three little Atlases didn't earn themselves! :)

Am I as polished as other contributors? Heck no.

Do I demand praise for a piece, which I'll admit, is largely a "stream of rational consciousness?" Nope.

Can I contribute more intellectual pieces in the future? My commitment to writing on, speaking about, and demonstrating a rational egoist way of life is not in question. However, the validity and quality of my output always ought to be.

Thanks for keeping me honest.

Tyson

I kept with Dvorak and can now actual type fluently in three different formats: 1. QWERTY, 2. DVORAK with ALT commands same as QWERTY, and 3. Total DVORAK, including ALT commands.
