If you ignore the libel against Branden it is a much better movie than that travesty with Helen Mirren.

No, it would have been double the tragedy for her to divorce Frank and marry Branden. A marriage would never have induced in Branden the physical attraction which he lost as Rand went through menopause while he was not yet even middle aged.

"... it said that Branden was so highly-intelligent that he could fake being a 'true Objectivist.' What Peikoff said was that Branden lost his way, having lots of correct knowledge but not enough moral backbone. Basically not having enough character/integrity."

I never saw any tendency to fake anything during the time I knew Dr. Branden. I never knew him on a social level or became close, but I was a student, client, apprentice for a number of years and spent many, many hours with him. I never saw anything but a high level of integrity.

But, I'm looking forward to watching the DVD for all the rest of it (I just ordered it).

My impression is that it is the 'orthodox' view of the 'goddess' Rand... not like the full human of the Heller book...

True, but it has enough interesting archival material to be well worth watching.

Yes - agree with you on that point - is worth the seeing, to be sure, just that it is not an 'objective' view of her...
