One of my favorite concertos. I first heard it at the San Francisco Symphony with Yehudi Menuhin. I have several recordings of it, but I can never have enough.

I once heard that Anne-Sophie Mutter had the reputation of "Madona in classical music", which seems rather apt from what Mr. Perigo has just described...

I have a CD of Ms. Mutter playing Mozart. Love it.

Max Bruch's op. 26 is absolutely beautiful. Anne-Sophie Mutter is extraordinary. The Berlin Philharmonic accompaniment is messy at times. The last movement is exquisite. This CD is a must for all lovers of the romantic period!

Hmmm....

Is this recording better than the Maxim Vengerov (violin)/Gewandhausorchester Leipzig/ Kurt Masur (conductor) recording of 1993?
