|Let's say we balance the books monthly. Say a typical solo active member posts once a day and say gets an average of one sanction for every other post. So, 30 times $1 minus 15 times $.05, he owes $29.75. Yikes, he says, too much! He modifies his behavior. The next month he posts only 10 times, puts more thought into each post and gets an average of two sanctions per post. $10 minus 20 times $.05, he only owes $9.00. Someone like Tibor Machen , who posts perhaps 10-15 times a month, but very likely averages many more than 20 sanctions per post would never owe anything, but actually get paid. [MM: hooray!].|
Another thought, perhaps the people doing the sanctioning pay the nickle? That way solo isn't losing money for sanctioned articles but making more money for posting good articles. Sort of like real publishing.
That's what accountants are for. And programmers.
