Suing for Peace

I've decided to take the advice of a few commenters and try to put an end to the hostilities between MSK and me. Petty infights and rivalries have no place in such a small but important community dedicated to advancing the cause of liberty.

In the Objectivist spirit, I present MSK with this peace offering and an opportunity for a fresh beginning. Let's cease all hostilities, withdraw all sanctions, and set a better standard to show how we who practice Objectivism clean up our own messes, and deal with each other fairly and honestly, without the need for force or intervention.

I would be open to somebody serving as a mediator in this process if both sides are willing and agree.

Steve - Agreed, and that is my purpose in creating this topic. I want to put this unpleasantness behind us and speak no more of it. We should be working together as Objectivists, not taunting, insulting, and excluding each other. I hope that this will provide an opportunity for understanding and reconciliation between the parties. I'm willing to try if he is.

I always give people the benefit of the doubt, and MSK deserves no less. I've put myself out there in good faith, willing to bury the hatchet. Let's see if he'll do the right thing.

Jules - Your words have moved me, and I owe you a great debt. I regret the men I hired to kidnap you from your living space, tie you down, and force you to read and participate in my topics like a forced-exposure experiment from A Clockwork Orange. I'm sorry for this burden I've imposed on you, being coerced at gunpoint to write hours and hours of comments you would rather have died than written. As I repent for my actions, we can only lament how many great novels, essays, and creative works you would undoubtedly produced with your time if you had only been free to pursue your own designs. Shit, we'd have flying cars and stuff if I hadn't registered this damned handle and shackled your potential like the Randian villain I am. Humanity is the losing party here.

Brant - I've been asked/told not to discuss this matter further on RoR. Contrary to what you are implying, I am fully capable of following such directions. Joe has done me no wrong, so I am fully willing to comply. If you actually want to discuss this matter and are not just piling on or defending your bud, we can communicate about it elsewhere, but you will have to give me a means to do so.

Brant - I sent you a private message. If you really want to help, then I welcome it. If you don't, then please don't bring up the subject again as it invites a prohibited response.

Actually I only wanted to warn Robert from doing anything that might get him in dutch here. I got a little confused about the time frames thinking he was still going on after the owner told him to stop, but he had stopped. That may be why my post may have read a little like I was hiting Robert over the head with a 2 x 4 for I knew the discusion would be intolerable for JR so it was intended as one post only. I consider the matter closed and won't comment further.
