Colege policies?  Heck, why trivialize it?  This explains just about everything.

Pretty accurate, Michael.  Sad part is I think it's a little creepy to be too funny.

Reminds me of a recent post of mine on a different forum about the misconception of justice being "all for one, one for all". This sort of mentality begins even before grade-school, when in kindergarten, the whole line to recess is forced to stop and wait for a couple blabber-mouths to be quiet. It's an easy way to get results, but results in injustice and acceptance of acquiescence (wordplay rocks).

Good comment, Michael. This explains the policies of lots of organizations. The first time I read it, I convulsed with laughter in light of the infinite number of committee meetings I attended at my college. Academia is full of sacred cows.

Mark Twain said, "Sacred cows make great hamburger."
