The normal bitcoin client does not encrypt the private keys to a person's bitcoins. So pretty much anybody who has bitcoins on their computer... if they get a malicious program on their computer their coins can easily be stolen.

While you are online, look at the disk drive light. Is it flashing? Why? is your machine swapping cache, or delivering your cash? How would you know?

When you are connected to the Internet, everyone else is connected to you. Gmail reads your mail content - addresses are anonymized, they claim - and show you advertising based on your content. I use my Gmail account mostly for MSNS business and see adds all the time for precious metals. Over on MSK's OL where he has advertising tied to content, we were discussing atheism and I got a popup for a self help book by a Mormon mother, which is funny, really, but underscores the fact that being online is like being naked in public.
