Yeah. I really like how he tied education, or the lack thereoof, into slavery and totalitarianism. Basically, if you want to rule, you want dumb citizens. Alternatively, if you are not evil, then you want educated citizens. Carson mentioned that, in his book: America the Beautiful, he provides examples of what 6th graders needed to know in order to pass into the 7th grade. He said even college students today might not make it into the 7th grade back then (because of lowered education standards).
That blew me away.
