We are a nation of maybe 330 million people, and God knows how many of them have at one point been near a microphone with the president and have had the opportunity to ask him questions, including at college campuses. "Debates" even.
His opponents have grumbled about it. OTOH, I'm not sure McCain wanted his transcripts front and center. Romney? Too polite to ask, maybe.
Perhaps is a sign of exactly how controlled those public opportunities to address the current speechmaker in chief really are.
Plenty of 'right wing extremist' journalists openly asking the question in public.
Few of these charismatic hand shakers have had stellar academic credentials, no matter what Ivy League schools they might have attended.
So it really begs the question; if a 25 year old kid wants a job in some cubicle somewhere doing some crap job, hes got to pony up credentials; but none of these voodoo priests claiming to know how to 'Run The Economy' need to do anythng other than win our version of America Idol and put on a charismatic winning performance for the cameras.
Are we nuts, or what?
Or is part of this "revenge of the C students?' Is it really just that .. pathetic? The tribe smirking along and voting for the guy most like them? "WHy are they picking on the poor guy? I wouldn't want to pony up my transcript in public..." ... just to prove I was competent to 'run the economy' ... or not be laughed at when I proposed doing exactly that.
Because on average, we're average. C is average. Is it good enough to 'Run The Economy"
Is it good enough to even answer the fundamental question, "Should any one or small group of us even be trying to 'Run the Economy?"
Because apparently, it's not good enough to win the job of assistant to the assistant planning clerk in a cubicle, if you are a freshly university educated 25 year old kid in America. You need to pony up the grades as a minimum, and more.
regards, Fred
