If so, then yes, of course I see the value in a companion that connects with you, over a span of years, of training and attainment of skills. My dog doesn’t do “sit-up, roll over” tricks. She is the carnivore tamed and in my hands, like the fire tamed in man’s hands in Rand’s cigarette. Shit, I’ve gone poetic now. Your post has inspired me!
Back to subject…if my other options are a rabbit or a cat, then it’s too easy. The only smart thing a rabbit does is make round poo. Do you know why they do that? So it will roll out of the cage. Seriously smart, but that’s the only one thing.
And cats? I’ve always had them since I was a kid until a few months ago when we lost The Muss. When a cat comes at you purring hard, it’s great. But it’s always at their timing, kind of like a woman. And I already have a woman.
