Such a disgusting eco-NAZI sentiment that permeates our society today expressed by celebrities that should know better such as old man Attenborough.

Yuck!

It's such a meaningless statement, if you think about it. Eew, the noble narcissist.

So, the Gaia-worshippers are every bit as anti-human as other would be theocrats. What else is new?

How about a program about the life of cold-blooded ecologists? They could do with the extra warming, eh?

Attenborough takes on climate change
John Plunkett

This is another article, he warns:

"If we and the rest of the backboned animals were to disappear overnight, the rest of the world would get on pretty well."

I realize that the above quotes about the state of the planet and humans may have been twisted somewhat by the media, because I always thought Attenborough was quite a rational individual.

There is nothing wrong with him finding evidence for climate change, it's just the associated unsupported claims that usually come with it I have a problem with.

But anyway, since Attenborough has not yet tried to change this perception of himself as a Global Warming eco-crusader, he must approve of it.

If sometime in the future a large comet or asteroid were to strike the earth most species on earth would likely become extinct. Humans are the only species on earth potentially capable of preventing this type of event from occurring.

Which sun? - by Sol's time, we'd be controlling it, using it, even fueling it if wished...

I would say to someone like Mr. Attenborough that even if an asteroid struck earth and extinguished ALL forms of life, one could still as validly say "the rest of the world would get on pretty well".

That's true. Attenborough seems to have just wanted to "sex-up" his new documentary by stressing the importance of insects.

However, I find his evidence for global warming flawed. If an event now happens either two weeks earlier or later in an insects life-cycle that would be an argument for climate variation over years perhaps - but why a general "global warming"?

I think he has become biased into arriving at that conclusion.

Perhaps his observation was referring to the damage humans have done,or must we ignore this?

At least that's what they tell themselves to avoid a full on James Taggart style breakdown.

Landon,

I have only seen in real life a "full on James Taggart style breakdown" once. It was my former father-in-law and I wrote about him here.

Most of the evil bastards and evaders I have seen, though, have stayed that way. I have seen some of them reform and turn over a new leaf. But a person breaking down like James Taggart did at the end of Atlas Shrugged seems to be extremely rare in life.

(In Brazil, there is a very ugly saying about prostitutes. They say that a whore never turns over a new leaf. She just takes some time off sometimes.  //;-)

Again, that's where the defense mechanisims come in, silly.

I'm not saying they don't usually work. I'm just saying if they stopped using them that would be the result.
