Fred Thompson commented on President Obama's remark, saying, "Maybe it's because he keeps treating the country like a fire hydrant!"

Maybe it's because he Baracks like a dog. Seriously, what does he cite as evidence for this? Who is he referring to, and what exactly did they say?

Obama's just campaigning. He doesn't intend to give any real facts or evidence. He is going for emotions and laughter.

He does good attack-style, fire-up-the-base, humorous rhetoric that is intended to make young, non-thinking liberals bond with him.

I only put the quote up there because I thought Fred Thompson threw Obama's meaningless bit of campaign noise back at him a funny way. Obama trots out the poor-me-always-under-attack thing and Thompson sends it back in the form of you-earned-the-attacks.

It is so strange that Obama has been exposed as a far-left ideologue and that his policies are bankrupting the nation and that he lied when he was a candidate and continues to lie about almost everything still and that he plays dirty in all things political... yet, his approval rating, which should be almost as low as the democratic congress is still fairly healthy.

He is an effective campaigner - just the right candidate for those who want flash over substance, and style over content. Young, energetic, charismatic, funny at times, intelligent, passionate. Add that to the fact that wide-open voter registration combined with extensive mail-in votes are exponentially easier for perpetrating voting fraud, and the fact that the far left sees that practice as only proper if needed and there is reason to be nervous about 2012 - especially if the Republicans pick a dud who is either middle of the road (progressive-lite), or a conservative that is a religious nut or just totally unpresidential.

It's 2012 and Mr. Campaigner-in-chief fires up the base and puts on an impressive show. Doesn't matter, because the bulk of Americans decide they don't want any more of the fellow's policies no matter how nice a guy he seems to be and the polls indicate he will be a one-term president. But then the votes show him a winner. hmmm.

Like a petty, fickle, and trite teenage valley girl, Obama is more concerned with what others say about him -- more concerned about gossip -- than he is about doing the right things for the right reasons. In fact, in his post-modern, existentialist outlook, there are no right reasons -- just strong feelings, rationalized and propagandized in order to procure a modicum of public approval.

It's a primacy-of-consciousness mentality.
