| | This was interesting, given how rare it is that Ralph Nader would say something many of us would be interested in. He went on to say that we need a constitional amendment that would allow the people to go to the courts and challenge unconstitutional behavior - illegal behavior. "Right now," he said, "the courts say to all Americans, 'you have no standing to sue... This foreign policy stuff is a political issue and we are not going to deal with it' and that leaves a huge hole in our system."
The founders, looking at one another perhaps, were too trusting of the elected representatives. They didn't put in a way to recall Senators or Congressmen or to bring any number of issues before the supreme court (no matter what lower court they start in.)
