Steve, I think you meant Ayn Rand Institute.

My 11th grade English teacher introduced me to The Fountainhead when she suggested I read it for the essay contest (before this incident, I hadn't even heard of Objectivism). The essay contest was announced in a weekly newsletter which was circulated through my high school. The essay contest was sponsored by the Ayn Rand Institute.

I don't think my school offered The Fountainhead or Atlas Shrugged as recommended reading, though The Fountainhead was available in the school's library.

I'm not sure if I would have ever discovered Objectivism if my teacher hadn't suggested I read The Fountainhead. I'll have to visit her one day to thank her.

We read Anthem in junior year. It was amazing and eye opening. However, it was my friend who introduced me to her other books such as Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, which were what really got me into it.

Not this year's election (link).
