It may all well be true... or not... listen carefully to the words of the voice-over and the mood is conditional.  Statements are made as questions.  "... who may have..." and  "Did Obama ...?"

It would be pretty easy to reverse the inquiry and instead of asking Sen. Obama for his friends from Harvard, just ask if anyone who was at Harvard remember him.

In fact, all of the questions raised could have been answered with a little honest work from a reporter with competent skills.

I had a professor a couple of years ago who was so terrible that we wondered if she actually had credentials.  I found all of the doors closed.  There is a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (sometimes called the Buckley Amendment), passed by Congress in 1974, which, by ubiquitous federal funding, applies to colleges and universities.  Even if it did not, the schools could have any policy they wanted regarding the release of records.  So, in my search, Harvard was one of the dead ends.  I found my professor listed as a member of a student club on an old webpage. That was all. The library did not have her master's thesis on file.  End of story.

We do rightfully expect openness from those would be political leaders.  We know the grades of President Bush as well as those of his opponent, Sen. Kerry.  (Old USA Today story here.) We know about Sen. Kennedy's cheating on a Spanish examination. Public life is a fish tank.  You do not have to participate in it, but if you do, the consequences are famously known.  (Andrew Jackon's wife, Rachel, was short one divorce.  It's an old problem in politics, having everyone know everything about you.)

However, it is not journalism to ask questions in the conditional.

What is Sean Hannity concealing?  Why has he never done a show about himself?  Would the public be shocked by the revelations?  Why has he never denied meeting Bigfoot?

Rodney, what I do in the booth is my business in a free society.

Since you asked openly and honestly, I will say that at the national level no choices feel compelling.
  • Senator McCain's health and mental acuteness are serious issues as is his history of internvenionist political economy going back to the Keating Five.  Gov. Palin is not prepared to be President of the United States.  Who really would rule in her administration is a complete mystery to me.
  • Senator Obama is all the worse for his politics and the mysteries behind him.  If he had a couple of terms in the senate, more would be known.  What little I do know only makes me happy that my wife and I did some camping this summer.
  • Former Congressman Robert Barr and his neighbor Cynthia McKinney are incapable of serving in the office of President.  They simply lack depth of character.  Robert Barr is less of a libertarian than Ron Paul was.  He is a homophobic Guns-God-and-Gold conservative seeking to get his name in the almanacs via the Libertarian Party. As for McKinney, I may criticize the concept of publicly financed law enforcement, but whacking the Capital Police is never a good idea. They are truly there for her benefit, but McKinney's "Coz is a fool" comment shows her true disregard for those whom she considers beneath her.  She is a villain right out of Atlas Shrugged.
Utlimately, right now, the differences between Sens. McCain and Obama as President are between which pains and sufferings we will face.  Think back to 2004... or 2000...  Who could have predicted the state of the world in 2008?  ... and what did the President have to do with the really important things that have happened since then, like the iPod and two private space launch vehicles?

At the state and local levels, I have few options.  Carl Levin is a shoe-in for Senate.  I voted for and gave money to his colleage, Debbie Stabenow because she was my county commissioner 25 years ago, and then up the ladder office by office to US Senate.  I disagree with her politics 180 degrees, but she does the job of a representative.  Whereas Sen. Stabenow represents Michigan in Washington, Sen. Levin represents Washington in Michigan -- and I'm stuck with him.  Locally, most of the offices here are unopposed incumbants.  Ann Arbor is a Democratic Party enclave.  I can protest by voting Libertarian, Green, or Republican, but that's about it.

We have two statewide constitutional amendments on the ballot.

PROPOSAL 08-1: A LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVE TO PERMIT THE USE AND
CULTIVATION OF MARIJUANA FOR SPECIFIED MEDICAL CONDITIONS
The proposed law would:
Permit physician approved use of marijuana by registered patients with debilitating medical
conditions including cancer, glaucoma, HlV, AIDS, hepatitis C, MS and other conditioils as
may be approved by the Departmelit of Community Health.
Perimit registered individuals to grow limited amounts of marijuana for qualifying patients in
an enclosed, locked facility.
Require Department of Community Health to establish an identification card system for
patients qualified to use marijuana and individuals qualified to grow marijuana.
Permit registered and unregistered patients and primary caregivers to assert medical reasons
for using marijuana as a defense to any prosecution involving marijuana.
Should this proposal be adopted'?

 PROPOSAL 08-2: A PROPOSAL TO AMEND THE STATE CONSTITUTION TO
ADDRESS HUMAN EMBRYO AND HUMAN EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH
IN MICHIGAN

Tlic proposed constitutional amendment would:
Expand use of human embryos for any research permitted under federal law subject to the
following limits: the embryos --
-- are created for fertility treatment purposes;
-- are not suitable for implantation or are in excess of clinical needs;
-- would be discarded unless used for research;
-- were donated by the person seeking fertility treatment.
Provide that stem cells cannot be taken froin huinan embryos more than 14 days after cell
division begins.
Prohibit any person from selling or purchasing human embryos for stem cell research.
Prohibit state and local laws that prevent, restrict or discourage stem cell research; future
therapies and cures.
Should this proposal be adopted?

The first is fine with me. The second is fraught with contradictions.

So, this time around, while I will show up at the polling place, sign for a ballot, and turn in a ballot, marking the ballot will not take long.

My question was relevant to the topic, to force you to be open and clear about what your full reply was to my contention that anyone who votes "on the issues" in this election, in the sense Obama wants you to, is being shortsighted to put it nicely.

Breaking News:

WND Exclusive DISPATCH FROM KENYA
Kenya detains Corsi during Obama probe
Officials scuttle WND reporter’s news conference on investigation

WND senior staff writer Jerry Corsi

NAIROBI, Kenya – The government of Kenya is holding WND senior staff reporter Jerome Corsi in custody at immigration headquarters after police picked him up at his hotel just prior to a scheduled news conference in which he planned to announce the findings of his investigation into Barack Obama’s connections in the country.

Corsi, the author of the No. 1 best-selling book “The Obama Nation,” was picked up by authorities at his hotel at 9:45 a.m. and is being detained at Nyayo House, the provincial headquarters for Nairobi.

“Just as we were about to start the 10 a.m. press conference at the Grand Regency Hotel in Nairobi, Kenyan immigration approached us and detained us. Tim Bueler, my publicist, and I are now in the immigration offices, with our passports taken. The immigration officer told the press, ‘There is no problem, and Dr. Corsi is a friend of Kenya.’”

Corsi had extensive meetings with top Kenyan officials upon his arrival. His visit and his activities during his stay have been well-known to authorities at the highest levels.

RR: "... anyone who votes "on the issues" in this election, in the sense Obama wants you to, is being shortsighted to put it nicely."

What are you talking about?  What do you mean?  What is the "sense" that you say Senator Obama wants me to have?  What do you mean by "shortsighted."

You obviously consume a lot more news that I do, and I know from other experiences that if I have these questions, probably other people do, as well.

Do you think that because I found fault with Sean Hannity's report that I support Senator Obama in his campaign for the Presidency?

By "the issues," Obama means anything usually debated in politics during elections--the economy, the poor, health care, etc. That's what he means by the issues.

Shortsighted as in myopic--not seeing the forest for the trees. The forest being the fact that not even a basic vetting was ever done on Obama, and that those who attempt to investigate are stonewalled and intimidated--to the extent that his very eligibility to be president is seriously in question.

I see civil war on the horizon.

I'm a pretty resourceful guy. For what it's worth, I got a hold of Obama's 1983 senior thesis, "Soviet Nuclear Disarmament":

=========================
Soviet Nuclear Disarmament

by BH Obama

May, 1983

Love is all you need (to change the world). Pres. Reagan should sit down, unconditionally, with Yuri Andropov and let unconditional brotherly-love do its thing. If this kinda' shit (rogue nations) is still going on in the 21st Century, then someone should run for president on the platform of being for the little guy, take charge of this country's power, and starting meeting with these rogue leaders in order to bring about Marxian revolution worldwide, temporary dictatorship of the proletariat, and eventual collapse of states and borders. Just imagine.

Word to all my brothers. And a shout-out to my best girl, Michelle (damn gurl ... you fine as hell!).

Peace through conformity,

B. H. Obama
=========================

Due to extenuating circumstances however, I am not at liberty to release my sources for this -- so you are just going to have to take me at my word.

Looks authentic to me! (By the way, Michelle's thesis is available on the Net also [for real].) It's rather frightening.

Michelle LaVaughn Robinson's "thesis" is merely an undergraduate capstone project.
You can read it here:
Part 1: http://www.politico.com/pdf/080222_MOPrincetonThesis_1-251.pdf
Part 2: http://www.politico.com/pdf/080222_MOPrincetonThesis_26-501.pdf

Part 4: http://dyn.politico.com/pdf/080222_MOPrincetonThesis_76-981.pdf

It is nothing more or less than the work of an average college student in a department not known for its rigor.  The way she bounces back and forth between her "Blackness" and her feelings that other people jump to the conclusion that she is "Black" is pretty typical of a freshman perspective in sociology.  That she maintained that confusion for four years is also not surprising.

Working on a master's in sociology, I try to keep my objectivity (click here).

I note also, that young Miss Robinson called herself an "alumnus" -- and still got a degree from Princeton.  (O! tempora! O! mores!)

“Obama is going down and to prison.” Someone posted this at Obama Crimes (http://www.obamacrimes.com/index.php/component/content/article/1-main/29-berg-outraged-obama-a-dnc-file-motion-to-prevent-concurrent-discovery#comment-2545):

Obama was helping to run Odinga’s campaign from his senate office in Chicago

written by Josh, October 08, 2008

Corsi was just on Hannity’s radio show. Corsi said I have over 25 emails between Odinga and Obama. Corsi said, that Obama said in the email lets continue to use of my workers to be the code person to communicate with each other. Obama said to Odinga in of the emails, if we lose this election (Odinga’s election--which he lost), we will cry voter fraud and start riots and burn down churches. For those who do not know who odinga is, he is a radical muslim in Kenya who is the prime minster of Kenya. Obama is a liar, he is a Muslim, and he is doing all this in the name of Allah.

Obama is going down and to prison.

I found an interesting article here.  Apparently Osama bin Laden was captured several years ago and, in exchange for information leading to the arrest of several high-ranking members of Al-Qaeda, was placed in the witness protection program.  They shaved off his beard, taught him English, and sent him to Harvard Law School.  Coincidence?  You be the judge.
