Interesting. I found books by Daniel Pink at the library. I put Drive and To Sell is Human on hold. I also found his website: www.danpink.com I am interested in finding the initial studies from MIT, the FRB, etc. The book, Drive, should lead to those. He presents the same ideas with different words on this TED:Oxford Talk. Thinking about this while watching that... It might be said that Peter Keating (following his mother's teaching) saw architecture as a repetitive skill for which material incentives matter and material rewards measure outcome. For Howard Roark, architecture was a "candle problem," an exercise in creativity. That could be widened to the conflict in Atlas Shrugged as a consequence of the two opposing value systems of the heroes and the looters.
