Coin of Comte Thibault III of Blois, Thibault I of Champagne (1037-1090 AD), silver denier or "penny" of 1.12 grams.

Interestingly enough, the prototypes seem to have been lost for over 1000 years before being rediscovered.  These are ancient Celtic coins.





What (if any) inferences can we draw about the people (peoples), their world, their view of it or themselves?  Can we predict politics from art?  Or is a different viewpoint required?
