Ron Paul Isn't Being Censored by Tibor R. Machan

Some of the folks who are eager supporters of Representative Ron Paul as the Republican presidential nominee are sadly misspeaking themselves these days. On the Free Market News Network web site the question of whether Paul is being censored by mainstream media has been posed, as one of the site's polls, and the overwhelming majority has answered "Yes". Gigi, I'm not sure what figures you are referring to regarding the NYC budget. Giuliani actually cut spending in those areas where he could, and removed 640,000 people from the welfare roles, cutting them in half. He did not raise taxes. His main problem was court mandated spending and non-discretionary spending on medicare.

He most certainly did not enter office with a budget surplus. At the end of his term the city was crippled by the triple effect of Sarbanes-Oxley, which shut down the IPO market in New York and sent investment to London. This was a Federal law, outside his control. Second, the stock market crash meant a huge drop in city revenues. Finally, there was 9-11. No serious analyst blames Giuliani for any of this.

As for the Second Amendment, it can only be repealed with a 2/3 vote in both houses and approval of 3/4 of the states. Again, this is like Abortion under Reagan, a lip-service issue that will go nowhere. Giuliani is not threatening to even try to repeal this amendment. He has never before run as a stealth candidate.

I invite anyone to dispute my analysis of Giuliani's budgetary performance.

He is no pacifist. His tabling of letters of Marque and Reprisal in 2001 for killing Bin Laden et. al. proves this.

You cant use a military designed to tear apart the military of nation-states to fight banded terrorists.

The British found out during the American Revolution and the War of 1812 how hopeless this is.

Too bad we can't even see the same tactic we used against them being used against us today.

Use the black-project goon squads to assassinate people similar to how Mossad and the Israelis kill every fungal mushroom that rears its head out of the swamp.

Ted, I'm using the NYC Independant Budget Office facts and figures.( and some shady half a**ed assesments) Your right about the deficit he started with, your right about half of the tax cuts he can take credit for and he did have a surplus until his last couple of years when he went nuts with spending. I withdrew the deficit/surplus statement in my previous post. I needed to research this better. Thank you for a lesson learned Ted.

                                       I do have a question about conflict of interest regarding Giuliani's home based law firm, Brakewell and Giuliani, representing the Spanish foreign investment consortium, Cintra in it's quest to build the TTC (Trans Texas Corridor) which is proposed to run from Mexico to Canada. Cintra would also , as propose by Blackwell and Giuliani, hold leasing and operating rights on the highway for 50 years after it is complete. This would leave thousand along the path of this highway very vulnerable to abuses of eminent domain. How does this sit with everyone? How does this not feel like an aid to the cause of the proposal of a North American Union ?
                                And I'd like to respond to the Ron Paul's foreign policy experience question with the facts:
                              Congressman Ron Paul serves on the Committee on Financial Services as a ranking member on the sub-committeee on Domestic and Intrnational monetary policy, trade and technology. Congressman Ron Paul serves on the International relations Committe w/ participation on the sub-committe covering the western hemisphere, Asia and the Pacifics. And Congressman Ron Paul serves on the U.S. House Committe on foreign affairs in charge of bills and investigations related to foreign affairs.He attends these committees.

I am not sure what you mean by conflict of interest. Fred Thompson (according to Dick Morris) bought property which he knew would go up in value due to pending legislation. Are you saying that Giuliani has bought up land or got kickbacks? If so, he would be a member of the club according to Morris. The mere fact that he serves as a lawyer or lobbyist for that group is no problem in itself, and the issue is a matter of public record, is it not?

As for a North American Union, can you be more specific? I myself see no problem with open but regulated borders and no tarrif barriers so long as each nation otherwise retains its own legal forms and sovereignty. Such a union would require Mexico and Canada to coordinate their immigration policies with us. Canada could no longer serve as an entryway for overseas illegals. Mexicans and Canadians could come here as alien residents so long as they could prove identity, lack of a felony record, and good health. So long as this did not entitle them to our welfare benefits, such a union would seem a win-win. Of course, other types of union would essentially mean giving up our sovereignty, patroling our borders, and allowing people to move here (to Minnesota, that is) in order to get on welfare.

If the terms were right, though, an economic and customs union would be a great thing.

I talking about Eminent Domain. His possible presidency. His personal interest as a representative for Cintra. Not as an independant speculator but as an arbitraitor by nature of his influence if elected.

Executives usually have their interests put in blind trust and recuse themselves from decisions dealing with past or present business partners. I would expect Cintra might find itself worse off with Giuliani as president than not. As regards eminent domain, didn't you hear that the Supreme Court has decided the public has no protections in that regard? I doubt Paul will have an easier time getting good justices on the court than Giuliani.

Ron Paul IS being censored. There are hundreds of articles about Ron Paul in the msm and all over the net. It may be the busiest week I've ever seen for news articles, yet...

I defy you to go to aol.com and do a "news" search for Ron Paul.
Pages and pages of articles with entries about Ron Paul removed. Not one. Nothing.

Are they just ignoring him? No, they are actively removing news articles about him.

If aol search is like a library, the librarian has gone about the place and clipped every article and index card about Ron Paul. That is censorship!

You may make amends for your incorrectness by doing an article on it.
