Alright already, but you've only answered half the question (the irrelevant half) ...

Do you, one Daniel Barnes, think that those (not you, those) propounding solipsism (those who, incidentally, disbelieve in the existence other minds) lack an objective view of other minds, or not? They either have direct access to other minds, or not. Which is it, Daniel?

Ed, solipsists a lack an objective view - that is, a view external to themselves - of *everything*. All reality is just their own consciousness introspecting. That's the usual meaning of 'solipsism', much the same as the usual meaning of 'subjectivism'. Why would I disagree?

Daniel!!!

Quit playing games by finding subtle imperfections in the way that I state my arguments! You know damn well what I mean to uncover by these damn questions.

What the hell, Daniel? Do you just sit there and get off on this stuff?! Do you think its "cool" to evade the honest inquiries of others -- with petty verbalism?

One more try:
1) Do we have direct experience of other minds?
2) Do we have direct experience of our own minds?

Please answer yes or no to these 2 questions ...

Ed

1)No. This is because they are *subjective*.
2)Yes. This is called a *subjective* experience.

When we introspect, this is a *subjective* act. When we study *other* minds (ie: reports thereof), we are making an *objective* study of someone's *subjective* experience, just as when I write this post it goes from a *subjective thought*in my head that you cannot read to an *objective statement* on the screen that you can. When have I said any different? Haven't I already said I don't know how to do the Vulcan mind-meld..;-)? What has this to do with solipsism? What is it that I'm supposed to be avoiding?
